Problem with this forum...that can be fixed!

Not really a problem so much as a minor issue.

    However!

I propose that the whole "ask a male" "ask a female" sub forums are junk. As both males and females ask and respond anyway.

Not only that but most people that want specific advice from said genders, will place it in their titles anyway.

Not only that, but when you hit the "New Posts" link, it doesn't separate the threads into their respective categories.

In any case, I think that if we were going to continue to organized the forum in a different fashion, how about some kind of "Internet and Long Distance Relationships" sub forum? They're becoming increasingly popular (unfortunately), and I think it would be good to know the nature of the problem before entering.

    Any other suggestions?

    I concur to all suggestions.
The male is a domestic animal which, if treated with firmness, can be trained to do most things

I again would like to suggest we figure out some way to prevent old, inactive threads from being bumped. It's annoying to respond to threads only to find out they are 5 years old.

I'd also like a "tell me what I want to hear rather than what you think" sub forums, or a cry-baby forum.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Would the "tell me what I want to hear rather than what you think" sub forum or cry-baby forum be a "Consolation Forum"?
"The weakest soul, knowing its own weakness, and believing this truth that strength can only be developed by effort and practice, will, thus believing, at once begin to exert itself, and, adding effort to effort, patience to patience, and strength to strength, will never cease to develop, and will at last grow divinely strong."

I guess that depends on the OP's reaction. Some whine, others tell you to fcuk off and die, but I suppose they are related. Some crybabies don't mind you disagreeing with them as long as you are willing to write a 10,000 word sugar-coated essay when responding.

i don't mind the ones that tell everyone to fcuk off and die, it's all about expression on here right? some advice is harsh to vulnerable people so i think it's ok that they get angry coz like lite said previously in another thread; at least it's anger and not self pity leading to more self doubt hopefully. it's all about getting thru the break up stages right?

Wait. Does that mean I'd have to be nice to GrkS for posting his damned essays?

Besides, there are ways even with a Sugar Coated section to make a point. Hyperbole works well in these cases. If they complain its over the top, they jump into the regular free for all. Whatever, I'm sure you get it.

Maybe it can be called "Please be nice to me" forum?

Yeah, it shouldn't be hard. just a php line that makes the forum close a thread after such and such a date.

I would like to be able to view the forum more discreetly. I hate that big Love Forum banner. I always have to check over my shoulder. I'd rather be busted looking at porn than being on this site.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.

Maybe the forum can be renamed to "STFU forum".
