    Hi there from Texas!

Just wanted to post a hello and thanks for having me. I was really glad to find this forum. I am a bit older than most of you I bet, and I have had many heartaches and broken a few myself.

Right now I am in love with a man that is emotionally unavailable, but I think maybe I am making a chink in his armor. The question is, why do I think I should have to work so hard for love when there are guys out there eager to give their love freely?

Unless you're in your 60's I doubt you're that much older than half our regular members. I'm sure you'll fine people able to relate to your stage in life.

All men are emotionally unavailable until you show up naked with a 6 pack of cold beer.
"Well, then," the Cat went on, "you see a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad."

Howdy... good to see another Texan...

I would imagine that you might like the challenge of working to earn the affections of another... much like some men enjoy the 'chase' when pursuing women.

Just be careful... sometimes all that 'hard work' may bear little fruit. It's always best to make sure all the time and effort spent is really worth it.
"The weakest soul, knowing its own weakness, and believing this truth that strength can only be developed by effort and practice, will, thus believing, at once begin to exert itself, and, adding effort to effort, patience to patience, and strength to strength, will never cease to develop, and will at last grow divinely strong."
