OK.. I've been doing a lot of thinking this past month of being single and I am extremely confused as to what my ex wanted out of me. He made effort with me, spent new years eve with me, met my friends, my family would always come to my house, pick me up etc.. all to cheat on me with an ugly girl and see her behind my back? Not to mention he had kids and didnt even tell me? He wasn't even gettin sex, why was he with me if he was just going to hurt me?

Why would he leave you for someone uglier? She probably was willing to sleep with him. But, what does it matter if he left you for someone uglier?

Yeah but I don't understand why he was with me... I was so nice to him, wasn't clingy, questioning his every move.. clearly i should have! But I just don't understand why he would waste his time with me. When we broke up we spoke on the phone afterwards and he said "it was just a casual romance, you know, girlfriend and boyfriend its cute."
