Doc I know the Japanese work hours are not as effecient as they could be. My dad was telling me how most nights after work they go out and socialize with their workers, drink some beers, stay out late, and them take the subway home half-asleep, only to wake up early the next morning and do it all over again. But at least they have the hours part right. If only they weren't so exhausted

They're not following a system, whether their company has one or not, and if they're engineers... they should have.

Inefficiency goes hand in hand with exhaustion.

There are plenty of other cultures around the world who keep and waste the same hours as the Japanese you've highlighted.

The cost of living in OZ is more compared to north america. Housing costs can be comparable in some areas (Sydney, Canberra compared with parts of Cali) and perhaps lower in others, but overall food and goods prices is a lot more in Australia. $18 for a case of Coke, for example.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

All the capital cities which is where 80-90 percent or so of the population live are overpriced.

Imagine paying $300,000 AU or about 230-250 USD for a rundown one story, 3 bedroom, weatherboard (wooden or vinyl siding) house with virtually no insulation, single pane windows, and tiled roof, in the extreme outer suburbs of a small city of about 3-4 million?

    Australian houses are a joke.

Most take out 20-30 year home loans and the lend rates are generally "variable" and controlled by the banks.

A slight turn on the markets and they add months/years more to your home loan repayment schedule.

Sorry about the typos in the title and original post.

    That was embarrassing.

And I don't know what either Doc or DM are talking about, you two are crazy.

You're in or were in a Bosch Apprenticeship Maintenance program?

That's what I thought I saw weeks earlier.

No, I'm just a Bosch man, (I prefer their tools), I'm an electrician's apprentice.

Australian housing prices are a f-cking joke. The government gives first home buyers $7000 - $14000 just to help them break into the market.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.

Can't believe you're really demanding a link. You could have looked it up yourself.
