How to know if your first date went good/bad?

I was wondering about, how to judge your first date?

because girls are more conservative on giving clear signs that they like you or not.

because a first date can end with her considering you as:

1-a potential lover
2-a potential friend
3-someone she doesn't want to see again.

so how to know in which zone you are, the lover or friend zone after the first date?

(I think it is easy to know if u r in the third zone, as u will never see her again ;-))

if they exchanges phone numbers, this means they are both interested and they will keep in touch either by SMS or calls. I think everyone can feel if that was one time off or other things will follow.
