Dilemma - I've fallen hard for someone

I met a guy recently and I’ve really fallen hard for him. I don’t know him all that well, but I can’t stop thinking about him.

Problem – I am moving away for a work placement. Very far away. I’ll come back occasionally to visit family and friends etc, but not for any prolonged period of time, at least for a year.

However it’s not very often that I feel really intensely about a person. I’ve never really had a longterm relationship, and am quite shy about instigating them.

This guy has no idea that I like him. I see two options – tell him or not. I’d feel a bit silly telling him how I feel as I don’t know him all that well (met through mutual friends). Plus if it turned out he feels the same way (unlikely) – I’m moving away, so it is just pointless?

Should I just forget about him? Can someone advise me please?

I'd tell him. Esp since you're moving away, you've got nothing to loose right? If he doesn't feel the same way you won't see him in some time anyway, so what's the harm?

And obviously it's haunting you, so telling him would make you feel relieved. If not you'll always wonder "what if".
