    What to say...

...to a girl if you want to ask her out? This has been puzzling me for a while because if I was to ask: "Would you like to go out with me?" she could think that I just want to go see a movie with her or something like that, not actually take the relationship a step further. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I suggest you say, "I would love to take you out- are you busy Friday?" rather than "Would you go out with me?" It's a subtle yet important difference.

But that be asking her if she would like to be my girlfreind? (This is really my first official time asking a girl something like this, so I basically have no clue what to do). If I was to say that, wouldn't that mean I just want to go do something on the friday?

The fact remains that you should make it more of a statement than a plea.

Would that seem a little...obnoxious? Or is that just me?

Does the statement, "I want you to be my girlfriend?", sound obnoxious to you?

I wasn't planning on saying like that, more like "Would you like to be my girlfriend". That gives her a chance to choose Anything wrong with saying that?
