Where am I going wrong?

I have used three methods to woo girls unsuccessfully. Please criticise and suggest alternatives.

1. Show interest in an obvious way, if reciprocated I flirt more and get a number and ask the girl out (Time taken: 20-30 mins)

2. Show interest but keep to yourself and after increasing your interest ask them out. (Time taken: A few days to weeks)

3. Chat online and in person until you get a number.

Please be aware that I'm in college (I'm 16/17) and am getting started on the whole "women" thing.

I think option 2 is good, but only if you don't get yourself friendzoned. You're already at a disadvantage because you're competing with older guys. On the upside, you should be able to pull a high school girl quite easily. Having a college boyfriend is big status.

Yea, but then I have to perv around a school. College girls are both numerous and easy to come by (2 to 1 in my college).

The latter will not be a problem for a few years yet. The former on the other hand is weak: I can tease and be sarcastic but I can't do wit of jokes.

There are no best method after all.
You should combine each another, and be creative
Try to be honest and just be yourself.
Sometimes woman can see whether you are honest or just pretend to be what you are not to be.

the most method i used, i always try to find out about her interest, getting closed to her friends too, and be a good friend for her at first. :p

Hahahaha, this is pretty funny, true, but funny.

Personally, once I hit college the game changed completely and the people started to grow up. I quickly found that I just couldn't find a HS girl that I could stand for more than 5 minutes.

Distinguish between "confident" and "cocky."

Cocky may work, but the caliber of girl it attracts is low and not the type you probably want to date generally speaking.

you say that girls look for cocky and funny, but its not just that, you know. for me personally, i can only take so much cockiness till it gets kind of annoying. lol its good to shine the spotlight on yourself but not too much...we look for more than that, like genuine-ness, and someone whos down to earth with good morals n such.

dont limit yourself to trying to go for one type of 'typical guy'. just be who you are, connect, n bond with ppl u get along with =] build and grow
