I also think that when any area/region is predominantly one race or color that the minorities are viewed as "exotic". A white person in the middle east would get much attention. A black person would get lots of attention in most european countries. Asians get a bit more attention in the US.

Most of the black women I know, including myself, have never dated (and don't want to date) black men. Most of the white women I know don't date white guys. It's only my Asian friends who actually stick to dating their race.
