Yeah I've used it but it has never been required for any of my math classes. Almost none of the math classes in the math department require Maple or MatLab or Mathematica because they are computational, and most of the material in math courses are conceptual, things like constructing proofs or abstract reasoning. Honors quantum mechanics requires Mathematica. My friend told me it took his computer 8 hours to process some command for his homework assignment, lol

The differential equations class I'm in right now has very much a computational bend, which was what I was expecting. My TA is an actual math major, however, so he gave us what he did. Next semester I'm taking partial differential equations but in the math department
