Is seven long term sexual relationships Too many for a woman?

My girlfriend has had seven long term realationships. Four of which she lived with them for at least a year. Is this a bad sign? Would it bother you? It just feels like there is nothing she could experience with me that she hasn't already. What do you think?

    You are awefully insecure.

Are you a virgin, who has never been in a long term relationship?

It depends on how old she is... if she's 18, that WOULD be a lot, but if she's 80, eh... not so many.

Then I suppose s/he would have to define "long term", because I don't see how it's possible to have more than maybe ONE long-term relationship under your belt at that age.

So she's had experiance with other guys? Are you so humdrum and boring that doing thing with you won't stand out as a new exciting experiance?

I've lived with four different guys and believe me, they are ALL very different. Being with you will be a unique experience.

I would say that the long term relationships would be a good sign. Would you rather she had a string of one nighters?

As the other poster said, it depends on her age. Mid-late twenties, wouldn't be so weird. Late teens, or early twenties, maybe a few too many.

Either way, if she is with you now, you can't really concentrate on the past. You should try to focus instead on your relationship with her, and whether that is going to work or not.

i've had 3 long term relationships since i was 16 and im 24....and im embarking on a 4th. i know its not seven...but every girl has been so completely different that i've always had a new and fresh experience with each! and i don't think its a bad sign...make sure you dont let her think it might be a bad thing...cause i know that would make me feel like shit...

I think the "sexual" part is overshadowing the bigger question here (IMO). If she is 18-23 why has she had 8 LONG TERM relationships? My question would be "what happened to cause those other relationships to end"? I'd also ask Steve1988 to define "long term". Were all of them over a year? If they were this would be a red flag to me. Then again, we only have limited information so far.

I'm 25 and I've had 4 long-term relationships (counting my current one), the first which started when I was about 16. I've had other serious relationships in between, but those didn't last beyond a few months. I've only seriously lived with (as in moving across the country together and co-signing a lease) one guy, and that decision was a big one.

Maybe you should lay out a timetable for us or something?
