Also, I hate to even mention this and I don't condone this kind of behaviour but one of my old mates in England used to chat to girls less attractive than him early in the night for confidence, he used to call them training wheels. Nothing too much btw just chatting, buy a drink, have a laugh or a dance, its actually fun and you are just meeting and chatting but they'll often be keen on you, it can change your perspective and give you confidence and practise. Having said that the way I feel right now if i got burnt by a girl who was "training wheels" I'd feel like shit. Next time you go to a bar, chat to a girl who is worse looking than you and then one that's way better looking than you and check out the difference. idk if George is an average looking guy and coffee girl and gym girl are smoking hot, he's got no shot. Hitting on them is a swift kick in the balls from a beautiful girl with a lovely shoe on. There are more than just hot and not hot girls it is the attractive ones in between you've got to go for.. problem is, they all think they're hot, and the may'd as well be because all the guys are after them too. Difference is that hot guys don't want them so they stay single, and are therefore the cause of single guys like me that they turn down.

Both coffee shop and gym girl are just cute... gym girl is probably more tending towards hot.. if they were dressed normally (ie waitress uniform ads like +20 to your attractiveness score) I'd probably have some sort of a shot.
