    The Movie: Up

Just watched it for the first time this Thanksgiving.

    It was pretty good.

I don't think a movie has ever gotten me so teary eyed for so much of a movie. At least with Big Fish I could get all blubbery at the very end, but I was chokin'em back 10 minutes in.

I would have been full out crying were it not for the fact the room was filled with people.

Saw it in the theater with a date... when she saw that single tear roll down my cheek after the early big reveal, the sound of her panties exploding was nigh deafening.

I wasn't impressed not one single bit.

    1) I freggin' hate 3D! And if I did like it I like it only as a special effect type deal for special movies, a cartoon in 3D? No thanks.
    2) It was hardly even that funny- IMO.
    3) No movie from here on in will compare to Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. I should have known that...

Okay, then don't see it in 3D?

And why bother seeing anything besides Finding Nemo 2 and Monsters Inc. 2 if that's going to be your attitude towards other pixar movies?

Did you forget to read: "I should have known that"?

That was the first non specialty movie that I've ever seen in 3D and it is the last.

Whatever, I don't have a particular liking or disliking for 3D, not exactly sure what would compel someone to go as far as to "hate" it.

I "hate" as you so purposely wrote... 3D becasue:

    1) those damn glasses don't fit my asian face, so I have to adjust them ever 30 seconds
    2) every time I adjust them my eyes need to readjust and that makes me dizzy
    3) it costs extra money
    4) it takes about 30minutes intitally for my eyes to 'accept' this new way of watching a movie through 3D.

    You said hate, not me.

Based off what you said I would guess that you don't wear glasses.

Nope, but I know folks who do wear glasses, and they feel the same way about 3D. I guess some folks just want to see movies like they were from the beginning of time until what last year?.

My point was that everybody that wears glasses goes through something similar to the issue you were having whenever they get a new prescription. It's normal to experience headaches and eyestrain with a new pair. The down side is you'll still need them after 2 hours.

It might be worse for people that aren't relatively "used" to having to adjust to a different form of vision.

Sure, I get that my bf complains constantly about glasses. But that is my reason for hating 3D, as well as it's not exclusivley for folks who don't wear glasses.

Either way you enjoyed the movie that's cool- I didn't but that's just me. Everyone else I know loves it... So I guess majority says: "it's a great movie".
