    Stress

    hey all,
I was wondering if any of you knew a good way to get rid of stress? I have stress from exams and also my gf has ALOT of baggage/bad stuff going on in her life at the moment, and its all getting a bit too much for me. Are there any good stress relieving activities that you could reccomend?

Usually, if I was being stupid and getting paranoid about my gf leaving me or something along those lines I'd just make sure I worked harder so that I was a better person for her, but now its not me being paranoid and its things that arnt either mine or my gf's fault, I dont know how to get rid of the stress.

Any ideas would be appreciated, although I already go to the gym when I can

    Thanks,
    R

I always de-stress by going for a hike. No people, no phone, no noise.

Use Google and search for some good meditation techniques. You won't regret it.

Do something mildly wild or dangerous. Swim a mile offshore in snorkel and fins with a ham bone tied around your neck, and dive as deep as you can with a lung full of air.

(Bonus points for pinching off a turtle head while diving without it grazing you up the back)

... smoke a joint and go to a catholic confessional booth (whether you're catholic or not) and pretend that you're pee wee herman and feeling guilty about where you put your jelly beans.

...howl like a wolf during a full moon night until the neighbourhood dogs join in unison.

There are plenty of things you can do to alleviate stress... most of it requires a sense of adventure, or at least a desire to do a Geronimo.

The fight or flee mind is our grandfather mindset... some of us still have it and we should be happy about it. It keeps the species alive but wreaks havoc on the holder during dull times.

Think homeopathic... in order to manage something, subject yourself to some of it.

    It truly works, trust me.

I like to bang on my djembe.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
