my ex and i broke up a year ago...and tried being friends.... he said things that i wanted to hear so id **** him, and he used me. then he started ****ing some fat chick and lied about it.... men are dogs. the point is....being friends with an ex.... is not gonna happen till ur both ready a lot of time has passed, and helps if u both are happy with someone else. u obviously still care about him moe than just a friend b/c u are trying really hard, which i understand, but from what it sounds like u two arent ready fro friendship yet. and honestly if he was raging dbag, why do u want to be friends with his nasty pathetic ass anyway, im guilty of the same thing. u need to block contact for a while.

You broke up for a reason. Probably multiple reasons. Why wouldn't those reasons still be around? Did one or both of you change significantly since the breakup? If not, it seems pointless to try to force this relationship to resume. And if at least one of you has changed since the breakup, maybe the change is so great that you two don't make sense as a couple anymore.
