    Are my standards to high?

I have been in love with the same girl for almost my entire life, but she says that I'm like a brother to her and doesn't think it's a good idea for us to date (and besides she's already engaged to someone else.) The problem is, she is the very model of the perfect girl to me. If I can't have her, I want to be with someone who makes me feel the same way she does, someone who is everthing that she is to me.

    Anyway, here are my standards:
-She must not be a smoker
-She must have been raised with strong christian values
-We don't have to have every little thing in common, but our personalities should at least be compatible. She must be very warm, loving and friendly, non-judgmental, and willing to accept me for who I am.
-She must have a very pretty face.
-She must be in her mid 20's, but still have that cute, youthful, "girl-next-door" charm to her, to the point where people often mistaken her for being 4-5 years younger than she really is.
-She shouldn't be one of those girls who likes to stay out and party all night.

What are my chances of finding another girl like that?

You could be looking forever, for that perfect person.

What you want and what you get, are two different matters.

I got the total opposite of what I usually look for. I tend to follow my heart, not the 'ideal' in my head.

Yes your standards are way too high. In fact I only read the first 3 and didn't even finish. Starting every quality you're looking for with "she MUST" is the surest fire way to not score a girl.

what you're actually doing to comparing every other girl to this one engaged girl and the truth is that no one will ever compare to her because they won't be her. get over it dude.

What exactly are you doing to find that girl? How many women have you dated in the last 12 months?

Well, there's nothing wrong with having musts, as long as they aren't the majority of your criteria. Personally, I will not date a smoker. We all have deal-breakers, though he does seem to have a lot of them.

You might want to drop some of those standards. Just dropping the age bracket requirement will up the matches by a factor of 10.

You want a mature woman in a quasi-mature age bracket who looks like jailbait? Never will understand why guys want early-to-mid twenties girls, and then expect them to act like they are in their thirties or forties.
