How common is it for a girl to ask a guy out?

If a girl likes a guy and he doesn't know it, is it common for her to try to make the first and ask him out before he asks her I'm mainly talking about people in their early-to-mid 20's.

If you have feelings for a guy ask him out.

i don't get why women don't ask. Guys ask all the time and get rejected all of the time. I bet 8/10 male attempts are rejected while 2/10 female attempts are rejected.

I'm just anti games. If I like him I want to know if he's interested so to not waste my time trying to scope out the situation for days, weeks potentially months.

I agree with girl. No sense worrying about rejection when there's always another one waiting around the corner. I can come off as a little intimidating sometimes, and so I try to take initiative by letting the guy know it's cool to approach me.

I don't usually ask someone out cold though. It can make for awkward rejection scenarios. I usually try to engage someone in conversation for a while first to see if they are someone I'd want to pursue in the first place. If I'm interested I'll suggest hanging out again sometime and getting the person's number.

Shall I clarify what I mean when I say I've asked guys out? Maybe.

We'll strike up conversation and talk about likes dislikes y'all know the basics. Then things will get specific about what movies we'd like to see, concerts coming up (parties, raves, hikes, rides, dances- basically whatever either of you enjoys) and then I'll say something to the effect "yeah, I've been wanting to see that too! Want to maybe check that out next weekend?"

Exactly. It can be an easy assessment if you want it to be. I had a guy ask me if he could get my number 'cause he knew of a cool rave coming up. I'm not into the whole rave scene, so that was an easy, "No thanks."

While I have always tended to be very encouraging, I have never asked a guy out. i want him to have the balls.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Any guy is flattered to have a woman ask him out and the answer you'll get, unless he's with someone, or gay, will almost invariably be yes. Unless he really likes you, then he'll say no, out of embarrassment and a little guilt. You'll see a blush so don't be discouraged. Push it and he'll buckle. Men are putty in a woman's hands.

It is not common. That gives you a strong advantage. Treasure this knowledge or you will lose it.

Girls don't ask because she knows plenty of guys will ask her anyways so why come out for one guy?

I've had a few women ask to buy me drinks but none have ever asked me to do something else but I think I usually beat them to it.

The thing I hate is when a woman walks up and says "do you want to buy me a drink"....you can tell who actually likes you and who just wants a free drink because I'll follow with "why don't we talk for awhile and then maybe I'll buy you a drink"...and even if it doesn't go well I'll still but her a drink because I'm a gentleman but I've also had women just leave when I say that...they just wanted a free drink.
Completely baffled by a backward indication
That an inspired word will come across your tongue
Hands moving upward to propel the situation
    Have simply halted
    And now the conversation's done
