The guy is an as*hole if he cheated. Cheaters don't change they just get better at sneaking around. You deserve much better.

Write up a list of all the things you hated about your ex. Write 'cheater' in gigantic letters in black ink and underline it, with whatever other negative qualities about him that bugged you during your time together below it.
