I'm losing my hair!
My crown is fine from what I can tell but my hair line has all but disappeared. I've got an extreme 'M' shaped hairline and most of that is badly thinning and I can barely see the hair if I stand a metre or two away from the mirror. So essentially I have a 'U' shape of hair, going from ear to ear around the back of my head.
I look a complete idiot with a shaved head...
What can I do? Can it be regrown without dodgy drugs and side effects? I'll never get a girlfriend like this!

Try Rogain, some said it doesn't work on your hairline but it worked for me, at least its a bit fuller now. But you will have to keep using it twice a day for as long as you want to keep them growing and I think it works for like 32% of the male. Good luck!
They cost like $50 if you buy the 3 bottle packet, which will last for 3 months.

I think shaving your head would be the best option. It would be better than having splotches on your head. Plus, you won't get as hot during summers.

Dude, I know what you are going through - but it's not as bad as you think. You might think you look like an idiot with a shaved head, but to be honest, once people get used to you, and once you get used it yourself - you'll be fine.
Just go for it.
In terms of building your own confidence, why not look at improving other parts of your physical appearance like working out (building muscles) and similar. It did me a world of good.

Also, self-confidence will usually beam the snot out of a mini-snag like balding.
