oh i thought there were a few people on here that liked classical music, i need some help deciding what music to choose for my business (i have no idea about the classics) the reason i'm thinking classical is because it gives an atmosphere of expense/posh and it's healing and soothing for the soul...does anyone have any insights?

    No musician will beat Chopin.

(According to Gribble, this artist is hard rock, but I assure you, it's very good.)

    What's your business all about?

Personally when it comes to healing/soothing/relaxing music (usually I use it to chill or during studies) I listen to ambient and slow glitch-hop.

    Example :

If you want something closer to classical, but still more popular I'd try out something similar to All Alright by Sigur Ros.

All that I can listen to when working. Here is just a taste:

One of my favourite vocals (not relaxing tho)

So many more: letter duet (marriage of figaro), flower duet (another from lakme), all of scheherazade, many more. iTunes has a pretty good selection and several free radio channels you can listen to, including CBC Classical.

Oh, and this one. I have a version performed as vocals (amazing) but this one is also pleasant:

Sorry Eco, I didn't see this was for a business. Avoid the vocal stuff in this case as not everyone enjoys it. Chopin is good, yes, as is cello music. Yo-yo Ma, for example.

My two favorite composers of all time are Maurice Ravel and Edvard Grieg, among others...
I also like Mussorgsky and Balikirev. Some of my favorite musicians are Russian.
This is one of my favorite pieces. Very powerful imagery.
