Wife reading private journal.....What to do?

As discussed in a previous post I am in a very lonely marriage and I have become quite miserable. I have been keeping a journal for about 10 months pertaining to our problems. It is usually on my person, in my vehicle or my bag. It is rarely left out in plain site. She is aware of it and I have explained what it is and that she shouldn't read it.

I recently discovered she read it. I don't know to what extent, but she certainly rooted it out and went through it. This is very private feelings about a very difficult time. She doesn't know that I know. What should I do? Confront her? Ask her to please stay away from it? .....

Are you kidding me? You are old enough to have been married 10 years, and you still don't know better than to put private thoughts down on paper and then tell someone "those are my private thoughts about you, don't read it"? Do you live in a fantasy world?

No, don't confront her. You will sound absolutely ridiculous.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

The best way to keep private thoughts private is to never tell anyone, and never put them in writing.

destroy it if you dont want her to read it anymore... and possibly it will work to your advantage if she got wind that you are not happy and maybe she will try to fix that?

Suggestion: Burn or hide your current journal, open an account on livejournal.com, and IF you must, don't go talking about it! The way you approached her most likely came across as, "Hey, listen to what I have, and you can't have it, ha ha ha ha!" Like others have said, you kinda set yourself up with this one.
