in my experience, girls are usually more passive during sex. They will talk dirty if the guy does but will not initiate dirty talk

I think it's pretty individual. Personally, I find it distracting at best, and sometimes, flat-out ridiculous... to the point that I have to stifle a laugh.

I think it's distracting DURING sex, but it's pretty arousing if played out right, when you're building up the intensity before things get heavy.

Usually I talk dirty before sex (given that i'm in the mood for it). Ya know, if he's got some candles lit and is telling me how beautiful I am, I'm not going to reply with "I want your big ***k inside me now!" Haha. But when we're not having a particularly exciting evening I'll get him in the mood by telling him what I want him to do to me or saying some dirty phrases. Then during the actual sex I'll let him know when he's on target by telling him when he's hitting the right spots, but i'm usually trying to concentrate on how good I feel rather than distracting myself with a million dirty phrases, it's easier to get off without that. It's normal if it's something you like. It's not for everyone, and for some it takes some practise. My girl friend loves it when i talk dirty, but I was unsure and nervous at at first.
