Asking a girl if a relationship between me and her would work ?

Basically, i am seeing this girl, been have for nearly 2 months now, we used to 'kinda' date over 2 years ago.

Anyway, before asking her out officially like that, i kind of want her opinion whether she feels it would work or not.
This isn't me finding out if she'll say yes or no to my face, i can take rejection, i just want her opinion.


So, would asking her if we would work, be abit silly, or is it a perfectly normal thing to ask ?

A bit stoopid I think. How the heck is she supposed to know if it will work and you don't know if something may work and until and unless you try.

Isn't that sorta like the legislature debating whether to start debate on a proposed law?

Just tell her you've been thinking about the two of you going steady and would like to talk about it.
