Umm what? Correct me if this is not what you meant: are you saying that most half chinese half white men fit this profile? Because I'd beg to differ.

Are you aware the origns of my choice are exactly the same? I love the way x looked, but z has more money, and p has nicer glasses, but m has better dance skills and r has compatible interests etc...

All these things came from somewhere, or someone and evenutally they found their way onto the wish list I guess I'd rather call it.

ohhh ok LOL I only want a halfer because I am and in my perfect lala land I'd want my children to be the same ethnic mix as myself. But seeing how halfers are popping up everywhere this generation my children will still be a little off. I'll have 3/4 chinese 1/4 german children.

Maybe when I was younger I envisioned the 'perfect' guy.....but now I'm older, I've realised he doesn't exist.

I went through a phase where I decided that my list of preferences didn't matter at ALL. It would be shallow to have any physical requirements and superficial interests shouldn't matter either, if it's true love, my deluded younger self decided. Ha!

I dated a stupid boy, and he got mad at ME for using big words and confusing him. So I decided that it was OK to have smart as a criteria. Then I was with a man who was NOT my physical type and was bad in bed. Not a recipe for happily ever after!

Now I have realized that having standards and preferences is OK. I am not responsible for making sure every man finds a woman. I mean, I don't like muscle-bound jocks, but that doesn't mean muscle-bound jocks are having trouble finding girls to date them. I prefer dark-haired guys, but there are plenty of ladies who like other hair colors. Looks are n ot the most important thing, but the perfect guy for me will have enough of the physical qualities I prefer that I like to look at him. And yeah, one of my standards now is that he needs a strong libido and we need physical compatibility.

I have an image of my "ideal guy" in my head. Eventually, the man I will marry someday will have a lot of his qualities (I'm doubt any man would have all of them).

    My perfect guy is:
    - My physical type
    - Would be a good Dad
    - Would get along with my parents
    - Would be funny and would find my weird sense of humor funny too
    - Would be smart with a love of reading and learning
    - Would be head over heels in love with me and I'd be the same for him
    - Would be honest and loyal
    - Would be ambitious in the work place (like me!)
    - Would enjoy traveling
    - Would have his own life and his own friends that are important to him.
    - Would be a secure/ non-jealous person
    - Would be dominant and adventurous in the bedroom

    Le sigh... someday! hahaha

Laila, why in the world would you ever have to settle for someone who doesn't meet these very reasonable requirements? I think you'd be foolish to ever consider dating someone who couldn't live up to this entire list.

The only guys who seem to really like me are the guys who are the exact opposite of what I've written above.

Or they're missing a vital quality like the ability to get along with my parents, the ability to be loyal, or ambition.

I just need to get better at picking.

I have never had that list. EVER.

I mean, there is some attributes that I would look for in a guy, but that mostly have to do with personality-wise, and they're pretty darn basic. (Like for example, honesty, passion, intelligence.......)

When it comes to looks, I just don't really give a plum tooth farthing.

I think it is actually a good thing to have some particulars, some standards. And while I still think it is shallow and also counter-productive to choose primarily based on looks...I think it is good to know what looks you like best and find someone who looks nice to you. I also wouldn't want to date someone who wasn't physically attracted to me. "Looks don't matter" is kind of an insult. I want someone who finds me beautiful even though I am not a supermodel.

For me I never really had a list of the perfect man and what little list I did have wasn't based at all on looks... It was only after I spent too long of my life being with drop kicks that I put this together!!

My ideal man had to be:

Caring, honest, reliable, family man, stable job (didn't have to be rich, just secure and able to live comfortably), good ethics, good listener, good talker and sexually compatable.

My man is all that plus more :o) and has the bluest eyes I've ever seen in my life which is a bonus!!!
