I just found the gal i have been seeing is older than she said in her profile

In a nutshell, I am almost 52 have been seeing a gal for going on the 4 th month. In her profile she said she was 53 and to be honest with you, when I met her I couldn't believe how hot she was and many people including some of my friends who met her say she could easily pass as being in her 40's. She also is very young at heart, dresses very sharply and quite active...loves golf like me too. We recently told each other we love the other one. At a Thanksgiving dinner her sister recently mentioned something that when I did the math would make my gal older than she said. When I confropnted her she said she was 59 and knew she needed to tell me. Her reason for saying she was 53 is that she hates being how old she is and tends to hide her age whenever possible. Ireally feel strongly about her and want to continue but am struggling alot with coming to terms with it...I am struggling with:

    1. Trying to accept being with a woman that much older than me.
    2. The lying part also concerns me but not as much cause I think she has been true to me about other thing.

Any suggestions....I really want to stay with her.......................David

My advice would be that you should have a better idea about women at the age of 52. She's 59 years old and looks much younger.. OBVIOUSLY she's going to fib and JUST for the reason you're so concerned; you've got some stupid notion that her being older than you is a problem, despite her looking like she's in her 40s and liking her quite a bit.

She lied about 6 years and told you. Welcome to dating, it's a huge non-issue. Sorry to be so blunt but c'mon, who cares if she looks younger and you really like her? Get over it.

I'd say it'd be a drama if you were 18 and she was 12..... At your age what does it matter??

Some women just have issues with getting older. I sure as hell do. Don't slap me across the face for this..... but I'll be 30 next year and I'm dreading it..... I know 30 is not old but it's closer to 40 and then 50 etc and as you get older the years go faster.....

I wouldn't worry about her lying about her age at all.

6 Years is much older? Dude, it's common for the ladies to lie about their age, so what. It's obvious that she takes care of herself and lives life youthfully. There are women in there 40's that look like crap, so feel lucky you found this beauty. Like the poster says it's just a number. I'm 46 and I still get asked for ID in the beer line up at a concert. I'm proud to say I'm 46 because I sure as hell don't look or act it.

Confused81...worried about turning 30? oh to be 30 again lol.

At your ages what difference does it really make? Come on now. You enjoy each others company and she looks great. What is the problem? Get over the old fashioned notion that a woman must be younger than a man in a relationship. Unless you are now looking for a woman to have kids with this age difference should be a non-issue.

Also get over the fact that she didn't post her real age in her online profile. People online lie about a lot of things, especially when it comes to dating sites. I can tell you from observing men at a couple dating clubs that most look at a woman's picture and then her age/weight first before reading any profile (if they do). The women tended to read a man's profile before looking at pictures and stats. That's the game and human nature. We know it.

If she lies about or hides more critical issues (finances, career, family, health, other relationships) that would be more of a concern to me.

Totally agree. There are people I went to school with that look like hell and much older. The 40's and beyond is when your lifestyle and genetics catch up to you. I just turned 50 and people have guessed that I am in my 30's. I don't happen to mention my age outside of family and long time friends. It should be a non-issue.

She's really not that much older than you. An eight-year age difference? Why does this bother you? You're not a teenager, this shouldn't matter so much. And, I mean, I don't know if you know this or not, but you'll be her age in only eight years. It's not that far off for you.

This I can understand. It sucks being lied to. But it's not a hurtful lie. It's almost like saying, "Yes, I am a real blonde" or "Yes, my boobs are real." Or you saying, "No, I NEVER look at porn, it's so demeaning to women."

Then stay with her. Keep reminding yourself that you've got a bangin' girlfriend who is in fabulous shape and could pass for being in her 40s.
