Met a guy on a website, I need your opinion!

Just a quick one. I've never met a guy online before and now I've fallen in love with this guy I met on a website. It's great but I'm afraid of what my friends and family might say if I told them I met online. Would you think it was weird, Yes or No?

meeting someone on line yes ok in this day in age but you are not in love until you can spend time with him

It's fine I have plenty of friends who have met their long term partners via dating websites. Just say you signed up on a dating website and it worked out.

If your family and friends are reserved they might think it's weird but if he's a good guy with time it won't matter where ya met.

It doesn't matter how you met them and it's none of their business. If you're happy then that's all that counts. The rest is useless fluff. I met my GF via the net and am not neurotic about it.

I wouldn't be ashamed and to say I'd met a guy on the web. In fact I did meet a guy on the net and I told people 'exactly' where we met.
No shame in it. Most people are doing it and are communicating with and getting to know people that way....there ain't no stigma attached to it anymore and as there would have been a few years back.

I'm in the same boat. My problem is I want my family to meet him before they find out how we met. I'm really afraid of them being judgmental. I'm also kind of ashamed of telling my friends too. It's a problem because everytime I mention him to someone new the first question is "how did you meet?"

    awww

i met my bf online and it was hard at first, too.
but that's really not a big issue. and if you are happy now that's all that matters!

Lol -- i remember at parties I used to tell him to lie and tell people we met 'through friends' or 'at school.'
