How's this for a romantic proposal?

So I want to propose to my girlfriend two summers from now, on our anniversary, September 1st. How's this for a romantic proposal?

-I don't tell her where we are going in advance, only that she needs to have the whole weekend off.

-We drive up to Banff, Canada, and stay in this hotel:

-That night, we have a private dinner, candlelit, at sunset. At this point I want her to think I am going to propose. I'm even going to drop hints to make her think I am going to.

-After we eat, with her thinking I am going to propose, I instead ask her to go on a walk with me. We walk through a garden after dusk, reminiscing about how we used to go on walks all the time when we first started dating. I then ask her to marry me, hopefully in front of a fountain (and whatever I figure out to say).

Crikey! You're going to be spending some SERIOUS cash on that proposal! I hope she says yes.

I have a year and a half to save up!

The room I was looking at was about $700 a night.

700 plus tax, plus gas, plus food plus you're well over 2K. not including the ring. Yeah, you must be rich.

Depends too what kinda girls she's like. If you're hoping for a surpise there likely won't be much. She'll know something is up when yourefuse to tell her what's going on. Then when you're wining and dining her she'll likely suspect the big question is coming. So if you're going for complete surprise, I doubt it will be. If you're just going for the romance, what the hell why not.

My guy as hoping for a crazy surprise so when he popped the question while I was watching TV I was totally shocked there was no classical romance but it was complete surprise, I didn't see ANYTHING coming.

    Goodluck.

If you love this woman so much why are you waiting 2 years to propose? And to be frank, I worry about people who think spending a shedload of money on something makes it something of value and 'special'.

    ^^I agree.
I never understood what the big deal was with these extravagant proposals. Honestly, if it was me (not saying I want to get married) I would rather the dude pop the question in the park. Or, after a movie and dinner. Or while we're washing the dishes together, and when I turn, he's just like BAM with the ring. Simple.

Oh yeah, and definitely not at a party where all your friends and family are at attendance. That's SO much pressure. I don't understand why people do that.

That's cheaper than the room I took my fiancee and our 4 kids at Disneyland this past weekend.
The suite was $1300 a night. Oh well...I can handle that once a year.

I popped the question earlier this month at Starbucks parking lot, inside my car, where we kiss for the 1st time exactly a year ago. I sang to her, and give her the 2 carat bling.
She wasn't surprised....she knew I was gonna propose.
