    the tortures of being shy

    the tortures of being shy

they say love hurts when you are apart
but it hurts more when they're next to you

people say that they understand and that they know what your thinking
    but they're not mind readers

when your in a group of friends
    they're really strangers

    when you feel emotion
    you can't let it out

no matter what kind of stress you have
it only tortures you for ever

    your face says emotionless
your mind says too much emotion

people think you are trying to be quiet
you really have nothing to say

    you want to say something
but you can't force it out

the INTERNET is the only place you can talk
for no one has a face

you watch the girl you like
get hurt time and time again

the friend zone is your worst nightmare
    but also your best bet

    you live
    a shell of a life

    you love
the people who don't see you

    you see
    people's lives go by

    you hear
only the sound of your not so forgotten dreams

some people think they have social problems
    they have no idea.

*a little side note to this “not a poem”
I would never normally give out my real name on the Internet but this is different*

I understand you. Shyness is the worst thing ever. I have studied many self help stuff and I haven't heard anyone say it directly. Well, now I am going to say it directly: You cannot be happy in life if you're shy and if you don't have confidence ....

Yes shyness is not good and guess what you can certainly overcome it. Meet as many new people as possible and try to talk to them on any subject matter that comes to your mind. Practice your speech, I mean look in the mirror and talk to yourself before you go for a public speaking. Take deep breaths if you are nervous and shy and in time you will gain confidence and overcome your shyness
