How long till girls get over past relationships and get into new ones?

A girl I met 6 months ago and have become good friends with broke up with her bf as of recently. He graduated and moved and she is staying here. I haven't hung out with her in 3 months so were really not totally in the friend zone. Is there a chance she could get over him quickly and get with me?

It all depends on how serious she was about the guy and how deep her feelings were for him. I've often heard that it takes twice the length of the relationship to get over it, but I don't necessarily agree with it. My only suggestion is to talk with her about how she is feeling about the break up. She should give you a pretty good indication of how long she needs to get out it.

I've heard that it takes half the length of the relationship to get over it (so if you were together for a year, you'd need 6 months to get over it), but of course it's different for everyone.
