What Do Girls See In Bad Boys?

I'll bet I'm not the only single guy who has asked this question, but I would just like to know something: Just WHAT do girls see in these bad boys? I mean, I just cannot get my head around it. These yobs treat them with such loathsome disrespect - and often even hit them - and yet they stay with them.

When I used to watch Blind Date way back in the 90's, I used to hate it when a girl would refer to the guy she went out with as being "too nice." I mean, come ON! Just what is wrong with a nice guy, girls?

Myself, I think these girls who date rough-and-tough yobs who ill treat them are just stupid.

In terms of why is a bad boy attractive.. they live on the edge and are unpredictable which is fun and exciting.

It's all about the challenge. Nice guys give in too fast, and these types of women thrive on challenge. The arseholes keep the women guessing, never letting themselves be fully conquered and hence the woman keeps on chasing him.

You can look at it like dangling a steak in front of a dog.. the steak is the man's full and undivided attention/care/etc and the dog is the.. er... woman. It's so close, yet will always be just out of reach.

I don't like bad boys. And it is just my personal opinion but I think the girls that do go for guys that treat them like shit do so because they themselves have low-self esteem and probably don't even think they deserve better. They have beat themselves up so much and for so long that when someone else comes along and does it they recognise the familiarity and it validates that they are a worthless person, which can be strangely satisfying until they wake up to the fact. Some may also like the drama. Who knows... give me a nice guy any day.

I don't like bad boys myself. That being said though, while I mostly date "nice guys", I prefer my nice guys to have a backbone and not put up with my crap. I'd hate for a man to give in everytime, where's the challenge in that?
