    Jewelry for Birthday

I've been seeing this girl for around 2 months, and its her birthday very soon.

Normally I wouldnt even try and give a girl jewelry at this stage, its WAY too soon.

    However....

I found something that totally relates to an inside joke we have going on, althought it happens to be jewelry. Now its not your normal heart or flower or any of that lovey dovey crap, its actually something thats completely different and unique(id rather not say exactly what it is).

What does everyone think? Is the idea that it relates to an inside joke rule out the fact that I'm giving her jewelry this early on?

I don't want her getting weirded out that I'm giving her jewelry this early on, but at the same time I know she would completely appreciate the inside joke of it.

I say do it - if its an inside joke then she's at least going to laugh!

I don't think there is anything wrong with giving jewelry, so long as it isn't too expensive. The thing is, you don't want to give such an extravagant gift that her future expectations will be skewed. If you start big, you will forever have to one-up yourself for the next gift-giving occasion.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

If this guy is talking about a "pearl necklace" your advice is both spot-on and hilarious.
Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.
