Something special

My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 10 months now, and we have had ups and down, some really big downs not long ago. we are trying to reconnect, and I want to do something sweet/special for him. Either a meaningful gift or a special date...but I can't seem to come up with anything. It's usually the guys that are supposed to do this sort of thing I think, so it almost seems awkward. I don't want something just incredibly mushy, I want it to be something that really let's him know I love him. Preferably something other than the usual candlelight dinner and whatnot.

the traditional stuff is usually the best. A nice meal, just the two of you then watch a nice movie afterwards. Chill you both out.

Pack a picnic... put it in your basket or strap it to your cargo rack on your bicycle... and the two of you bicycle someplace nice and eat your picnic while watching the sunset.
