I recently dated a guy for a few months and now that we are not together, he literally goes out of his way to hurt me. What's the point if he told me that he did not like me as a person?

Maybe he thinks you did something that he needs to retaliate to? Doesn't make it right but i suppose he justifies in his own mind, his bad behaviour.
