Here's a little advice my dad gave me when I was a teen, and it helped tremendously:

1. What's the worst she can do? Say no? So what? If she does, you move on.

2. You CAN'T get the girl if you don't ask.

If they'll be mad at you, those're friends you don't need. If it's teasing... live with it.
