I can't speak for the OP but my take on FWB is this:
Not all nice girls want a relationship with you. Or in my case, no nice girl want a relationship with me. But since I still want to **** them, FWB is the second best choice. Sex is fun and we both would get more experienced for the benefit of each of our potential future partner. And everybody would win
