There's a girl that I really like, but our last names are the same, and I'm just afraid that people would think it's awkward because they might think that we're somehow related. It's a really common last name.

dude, this is a dumb question... y not just tell them, we're not related since you said its a common last name why does it even matter? i met some ppl who had the same last name as me, does it matter?
I been asked many times what's my ethnicity and I been called random stuff like filipino, thai, korean, japanese, vietnamese, mongolian. Now that's is some annoying sh!t right there.. I been called teenager when I am way way past that and they keep asking my age and no one believes me... but you just have to tell them, nothing wrong with that...
