back to the lonely road again.

I met this girl one day,
we started off as friends and partners in some funny way,
We laughed and joke and our friendship never changed,
even her eye's and smile would always be the same.

When things got tough and situations got ruff,
she would call me and I would always deliver her a great big hug.
She would stress out and at times seem so down,
but I'd pick her up and we both would head to down town.

Things were great here in the south,
So I took the chance to ask her out.
It was without a doubt, that my question to her knock me out.
I was left alone in a drought, not a explanation, or even a shout.

I haven't seen her since the time,
wishing to myself that she was still mine.
But who cares about this rhyme,
now I think she wasn't worth a dime.

But I wish we never bumped into eachother,
Now I regret every single moment, she treated me like her brother.
she acted like a mother, one of her friend's told me,
she was seing another, but that's okay because he was just a stupid mother F***er.

I don't want to see her again,
and if she comes back, I'll send her A$$ away.
I don't care if she thought this was all a little game,
she wasted my time and I am not the one to blame.

So here is my story to you,
If she comes back, I'll tell her that we are through.
She should of know that my love was true,
it wasn't a fairy tale and now there is nothing she can do.
She is a big girl now, words like these should stick to her like glue.
If she does not understand, well honey, here's a F**k you.

**When you said you said you wanted to be with me, you should of been serious. When you said you wanted to be real with me, you should of been real with me. Now you will see me and the world will notice me but it will be too late for you to catch my friendship again. Now you have no choice but to move on to the next fella. Sorry, our lives could of been complete**
-To my friend who I will miss
To be or not to be?

    Is that the question?

Why should he have compassion for someone who did not take the time to be honest with him if they were truly friends to begin with?
It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, a day to love someone - but it takes a lifetime to forget someone"

You expect quid pro quo in such matters? "I won't give you 'this' unless you give me 'that'?" I don't think compassion works that way and, yes, the higher road would be to have compassion for her blindness to his worth and express terms of sympathy, rather than ones of anger. Anger, after all is only hurt turned upside-side down. So, in addition, NOT expressing anger would be more truthful. This isn't a love poem. It's a hate poem.

yeah since you put it like that yep i agree, but hurt is an emotion and so is anger and its probrably one of the steps back to recovering

I think, 9 times out of 10 anyway, hurt and anger are one and the same emotion. Just seen from different perspectives. Think of the wine glass. Upright = open, receiving. Upside-down = closed and not receiving.
