    Creepy Trend...

What are these girls doing and why do their parents allow it? (yes, I am aware that parents aren't expected to do much these days, besides create life forms, but fortunately there are still some good parents out there).

This is like throwing bait to the sex offenders in the world.

I find women who dress their little 4 to 12 year old girls up in full make up and skimpy costumes, dancing with suggestive moves in beauty pagents more disturbing..... and to have it televised....I'm pretty sure pedifiles everywhere have it PVR'd.

The correct spelling is "pedophiles" and I totally agree with you: it is a disturbing trend, period.

Ugh.... I don't say this a lot, but, this is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time.

Anyway, who cares if girls want to look like barbies. I don't think this is strange at all.

To repeat: Quit being an ass. It may take awhile, but try a little every day.

Most of those girls are older than you think (in their 20s) who use makeup to make themselves look younger and doll-like so it isn't sexualizing young girls..its making older girls look younger.

How about if our 'news' media didn't report these things so graphically? Were those photos really necessary?

Yes, many parents suck. Those who have child actor/esses or enter in beauty pageants are immediately suspect. Child protection services could start with those lists for new clients.

But yes, those older girls are repeating a Japanese trend. And the Japanese are a great example for things sexually perverted.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

I completely agree with everything you said above. You're right, I'd forgotten about that sort of "Japanese anime" look that became popular over there.
