Sometimes one needs to consider the context in which comments are made. Sometimes one feels unable to shape a relationship or affect a dying relationship. So, comments are really a function of an insecurity or inability to take charge of other aspects of one's life or relationships with others. I've always thought LF is a place where many people do just that--that is, try to grapple with aspects of their lives.
