How to tell / imply to a friend I want more?

I have a friend from my studies that we got a bit closer this recent weeks,
but it's not like we're good friends really.

I had a crush on him a few years ago, and I was thinking on it again.

How to imply I want more?
We finished our degree now so I won't see him at the university anymore!

I actually like this line...I second this approach.

Ask him out, there is no sense in beating around the bush.
