what to do about this girl?

so me and this girl have known eachother for about 10 years and we're really close, we even lived together for close to a year, we've never been romantically involved but if you happened to see us together you'd think differently. yes i will admit i was after her for quite a while but thats long past. im single and have been for a good bit, im not in a great place in my life, i lost my job at the beginning of the year and have had to move back in with my folks after two years on my own. when im with her it puts me in a better place and old feelings come up, its frustrating and pulls me away from people and situations that could lead to me not being single. at this point in time im not sure what to do. if i should tel her this or just cut her out of my life, i just dont know...

i realized a long time ago that ill never be anything more than a friend thats long passed, problem being that despite that i still find myself having feelings for her

Just ask her if there is something more, and tell her you have feelings for her and that you want to know if she feels the same way. If you are at the point where you feel like cutting her out of your life, you better make sure you have the honest answer to this question first. Try to be as upbeat as you can. I know losing your job is tough and sometimes we get stuck in a bad place for awhile. Life ebbs and flows, just try to remove yourself from the emotions of your current situation and set yourself up for a more positive future.
