It's not a matter of harm vs benefit at all - it's a matter of not doing unnecessary, irreversible surgery on the gentles of people without their consent. If boys want to cut off bits of their penis let them do it when they're old enough to make that decision themselves, give them the chance to do their own harm vs benefit analysis. I've no idea why Americans still insist on doing this to their children. For some reason calling something a cultural or religious practice gives it a social licence, disgusting.

I find this really interesting, considering I was reading on another forum that they have been using foreskins to grow larger patches of skin from to test cosmetics on. Yes they also use foreskins for skin grafting for burns victims, so it's not just purely cosmetic. A human foreskin can go for as much as $600, as long as it's 'harvested' before 3 months of age.

So, personally I don't think this issue has as much to do with the health of our boys as we would like it to.

On a personal level, I don't mind the foreskin being there, but there ARE undeniable health benefits to it being removed. As I've said before, you may not consider the health advantages to be worth having the procedure done, but to deny they exist is like saying the earth is flat.

And I have never met a person who attempted to grow foreskin back (or even those who whine about having had it done as an infant) who wasn't emotionally imbalanced.
