Edited to give another angle: I too, could have had no friends if I'd turned bitter and twisted. But I didn't go like that, so I had friends to help me.
They weren't really good friends, when one thinks about it. They constantly hung out without inviting me, lied to me, hooked up with girls I was seeing....

I lost a very good job because I called in since I was SOOOOOO desperate to hang out. And when we FINALLY did, they never talked to me or included me. And since this was after high school, I could not make new friends out of those who I politely declined back then.

The good times weren't ever that great but I had to take what I could get. My brain just doesn't work in a way that is compatible kids today, and this is the worst part of all. It isn't so much judgmental or anything, but my mind literally can't be like the rest of the kids. I'm totally in the wrong time for me.

Because we have to chase him. Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

You think you've been bullied? I wanted to get a gun and shoot kids who tormented me. It was real fortunate I never got a hold of one; otherwise, I wouldn't be alive today and neither would those jackasses.

So, is all of this Bullshit - or is what you told us about previously having had friends and being able to fit in Bullshit?

You may not like being called a Bullshitter, but your threads are full of it. You have told so many contradicting stories that it's the best term I can find to describe what you write.

Rowen is right, this thread was a mistake.

I'm sorry LR, you really have had it far, far worse than everyone else on the entire planet. People who've been devastated losing their entire families in accidents. People who've been held captive by in basements for years on end. People living in war torn countries where speaking out can cause death. People who've been cheated on and lied to and swindled. They've got nothing on the misery you've suffered, have they.

I'll save my help for those who help themselves.

Maybe I just am not good at expressing myself. I think that's a good possibility.

Thanks for your kind words Rowen. But he won't be an 'incredible man' in the regular sense of the word. He'll always be dependant on others and I can only hope that his sister doesn't have her life too impacted by him when we're gone.

But you are right that it's nothing to be ashamed of. Best thing about having him is that it's given me a window into the souls of others. I quickly learned which people to have around me and which ones to let go of. And I've also learned that there are far more good people than bad - because I had to let go of very few.

Now I think you're being WAY out of line. Frankly, I don't even need this kind of patronizing. I believe I've got a lot of empathy and am trying to do things for others, hence volunteering. I'd do more but I don't have the money yet, although I will once I have a career.

A lot of it was mostly me exaggerating the details of my life to portray myself as even more inept and loser-like...when I guess I don't even need to exaggerate to prove what an inept loser I am.

I never fit in. I get treated and looked at as though I were severely retarded, like Sling Blade and I have always believed it. This affects social life because how everyone views a person based on what others have instilled in them to believe will determine how they treat that person and try as I might, I could not get them to change their minds. My dad made me into a prude by not allowing me to be a normal kid; I was heavily restricted in what I could watch. The irony is a lot of kids who watch extremely violent or graphic shit turned out better than me; most of them don't actually end up being bad kids.

I don't see why not to patronise you. We've all told you about the bad stuff which has happened to us and that we've survived. But from you; no comment on anything we've told you - no acknowledgement that others have had bad shit happen to them too - just more morose attitude. As far as I can see, you still believe that you have it worse than everyone else.

Well, let me expressly state that I do not believe anything of the sort. I have read through everyone's posts and felt for them, by the way. I did not ignore them to go straight into complaining or whatever you imagine I did.

Why did you get so bent out of shape when I called you on your BS? I mean, now you're even admitting to it. You've gotta stop with the BS if you're to be successful.

Given the patronising manner in which you speak about your peers, I would very much expect that they do reject you. You say that you write differently here to how you behave real life - but I bet they see right through your façade. You need to be respectful to others to be respected in return - it's socialising 101.

I find that most adults make their own judgements on what a person is like. School children may follow the herd, but most adults don't. I certainly listen to warnings, but I make up my own mind about a person. Having said that, mostly I do find that when everyone dislikes a person, there's usually a good reason why.

Your upbringing may be relevant back when you were a kid. But you're an adult now, so no blaming of others for your current faults. You now have control over your own life, actions and behaviours.

I'm sorry....where were your posts conceding that a lot of other people have it tough too? Did I miss them? If so, I unreservedly apologise.

This thread is embarrassing. Noone posting here has real problems. It's just life, folks. If you want to see problems, visit the 3rd world.

I thought it was needless to say. I didn't think a big "YOU GUYS HAD IT HARD" was necessary.

I am respectful IRL. But respectful is not an endearing quality; just what's expected to get through a job dealing with the public. You don't make friends being nice.
