    Problems with overprotective parents.

Hi, this is my first time on these forums and was hoping for some advice.

My relationship has currently run into a wall. My cousins are currently planning a small trip out of town and I've invited my girlfriend along.
She would like to come along but her parent, who are very traditional (we are chinese), are completely against it.

Here are some fact about our relationship:
    -I am 28 and she is 27.
-We have known each other for 6 years and have been dating for 3.
    -We do not live together.

We have never gone anywhere together or even spent the night together because her parents are worried something might happen to her.
I am not a stranger to her family but I feel as though they cannot trust me. I respect their concern for their daughter's well-being but am at a loss as to how to handle this problem. We both think she deserves to make her own decisions but they will have none of that.
She has thought about moving out but is currently unemployed.

    Please share your thoughts.

She's a 27-year-old adult. Why are her parents still telling her what she can or can't do?
I think she needs to talk seriously to them and explain sweetly but firmly that she is an adult and has to make her own life just as they made theirs.
    Good luck!

Their house, their rules. How about she starts taking care of herself, and then is no longer obligated to listen to her parents? How long has she been unemployed? Does she have any job qualifications or prospects?

Come cultures really need to embrace what we call the 21st century. Where people beyond the age of say 18 are able to live their lives without being dominated by parents. But if she lives at home at her age then it's going to be hard for her to give her folks the finger. She needs to grow up, get a job, move out and then live her life. And you my friend need to dump her and find an adult to date. You know, an adult that you can go away for weekends with. You might even (gasp) get to spend the night together for a game of 'hide the sausage'.
