This is an interesting thread, and sort of enlightening.

I don't care either way if a person's number is zero or 100. Doesn't matter to me. But a couple things.

1) I'm honestly curious how a late teens/early 20s person finds dozens of people to have sex with. I'm a social and confident guy, and I don't know if I could identify 20 women I've met in my entire life I'd be really eager to bang. If you're 23, for example, and have had sex with 25 people, you've basically been having sex with a different person every third month of your adult life...with no steady relationships to break up the promiscuousness. How fulfilling/enjoyable is that, really?

2) YC, I read your posts with interest. I'm 31. You can count my number on one hand. My guess is we have a fair amount in common, though I don't believe I'm nearly as pessimistic as you. Don't worry about women. Seriously, don't. I know what it's like to be a short, skinny, average looking dude, and I know what it's like to have women gloss over you all the time for jackasses with questionable intelligence. Don't let it shake you. Here is truth: Not being tall, well-built, and the general image of what women want in an "alpha" guy is going to hurt you with women. But the very occasional smart, quality woman (they are the extreme minority) will appreciate you. You're just not going to get the numbers other guys do. And there's nothing wrong with that. Finally, don't let women try to knock you down, saying you "just aren't confident enough." That's BS women spout to make themselves feel better about why they aren't attracted to a guy.

You are confident. It's obvious to anyone who can read between the lines. And you are obviously very bright, one of the brightest people here and one of the few who can actually write coherent English. You have strengths. Play them up. And ignore the haters.
