I don't see anything wrong with text or email. It may be better though to show you have some confidence and ask her out for coffee face-face. Dont come across as too cocky-like you are expecting her to say yes but dont come across as nervous or shy either. I know-complicated lol. If you are nervous-text is fine

I guess it depends on the relationship you have with this person.....if it's a long time friend or part of your group, or just someone you already text a lot to, then it would be ok, but if it is someone you just met you need to step up and be a man about it, ask them in person. Just have a positive attitude about it.

I agree with smackie, it depends on what your usual communication is like and also what type of relationship you want or what type of bf you will be. Personally I would not neccesarily turn down someone just because he emailed me to ask me out, but I would be expecting a more casual relationship, where as if a guy made more of a personal gesture when he asked I would expect a more serious romantic relationship.
