It's learned behavior....maybe she sees her mom doing the same thing, giving her dad the silent treatment when he does something wrong.

Sad thing is that it's guys too. And it's scary how many of them are learning it. I once talked to a guy who got along great with me...until his phone started acting up. I'd get all of his texts, but his sometimes missed mine and delivered them in bulk days later. So, in the end, his true colors came to the surface when he started sending me nasty texts, all the while knowing his phone had that problem. And even after I gave him proof via screenshot, he still ignored me and acted pissy assed.
