    I wish it were that simple. Maybe I'm too stupid to flirt and relatedly get a girl...I can't even insult anyone properly. I can't console anyone properly. And I have NO powers of flirt. I'm too nice to girls, too interested, too lame. Oh, and too short.

    YoungCosmo, the secret to winning in love is not to be vulnerable. The one who loves the most, who is the most emotionally vulnerable loses. To win you need to have good control over your emotions.

    As for being too nice, too interested, etc. you need to work on creating healthier boundaries for what you are and aren't willing to do for someone. Don't let yourself get used.

    At least you CAN get a date. It's supremely tough for anyone who's a genuinely decent person and can't even get a date.

    Here is another tactic--you can appear vulnerable or crazy about someone occasionally as long as they don't start to take it for granted. Go ahead and add the girl to your Facebook but don't message her. Wait for her to initiate the conversation. Wait a month. If she hasn't emailed by then you can send her an email to say hi.

    Thanks for the advice. This week I realized I'm not boyfriend or even FWB material. I really will end up alone. I would've been happy if I just had a second girlfriend...1 relationship, for a few months, founded on a lie, and that's supposed to last a lifetime?

    Don't overthink this. You have nothing to lose by sending her a quick FB message saying it was great seeing her again.

    She may have just been chatting you up to get a better tip, or maybe she likes you or... who knows. Just ask and find out. Keep it simple, Sherlock.

    Yeah. I'm just going to give up on her. She'll get a much better guy, or a much much worse guy but if he can get her number and date her, he's a better guy than I am by default. I'm a loser.
