Actually I was pretty good with the opening lines on those sites. I'd say 90% of the time I got the person I messaged to look at my profile, but not a very high percentage responded. Well I just thought with all the crazy stories you hear these days that women would generally not be receptive to meeting random strangers. I guess as long as you approach them in a public place with others around, they should feel comfortable, right? As long as it isn't in a dark back alley or something I assume, lol.

I think it strongly depends on what the custom is in the place where you live. In my country, it's extremely rare for a regular decent guy to walk up to a woman and starting to chat with her. Only foreigners or creeps do it. Same thing goes for guys btw... no woman walks up to a guy and starts chatting with him, and if she does the guy will not be comfortable with it (he might enjoy the attention, as would the woman, but he will think there's something off about it, as would the woman).

So, try to pay attention to what other people do in your area. Do you see random strangers walking up to each other and starting to chat? Ask your female friends, would they be (or are they) comfortable with strangers walking up to them? From what I've gathered on this forum, online and in USA tv shows and movies, I'd say most people think it's normal to meet potential partners like that in the USA. So go ahead and do it.

May be it has to do with the type of women you unintentionally select. May be you subconsciously choose women who would be more likely to repeat the same pattern with you. You said that you had chats with over 3000 women but can you remember 10-15 women who you had longer chats with? The chats that were really promising? Can you see a pattern or anything in common between those women?

Well, most were younger women, like 18-20, so just that alone might have been a factor. I am one of those guys who look way younger than I am, so I generally attract younger women, which is what I like of course. Like I said, I haven't actually done any dating at all yet, but I bet I could easily get a younger woman to date me. I am open to dating ages 18-28 though. As far as the online dating world goes, I assume the younger ones are just more scared to meet someone from online contact than older women would be.
