This guy sounds like a real asshole. You were in the right for apologizing, and if he was a real friend then he would have accepted the apology. On the other hand if he has a bad temper then he won't accept the apology right away. Give him some time and don't go posting things on social networks about your feelings. That is not the purpose of any social network. He may consider you as an attention seeker and that will put him off.
